Why train in Acro Yoga:

  • Acro yoga teacher training has grown rapidly as a community practice over the past decade, with dedicated jams, festivals, and studio classes appearing in cities worldwide.
  • Structured acro yoga teacher training in India remains far less common than in mainstream hatha or vinyasa styles.
  • Certified instructors are still in relatively short supply compared to demand.
  • Beyond the career angle, many practitioners are drawn to this training for how directly it builds communication and trust skills.
  • These skills develop both with practice partners and, over time, in other areas of life.
  • The physical skill-building is real, but most graduates describe the relational and communication training as just as valuable as the acrobatic technique itself.

What Is Acro Yoga Teacher Training?

Acro yoga teacher training teaches you how to lead students in a three-role practice: the spotter, who keeps an eye out for safety and offers assistance when needed; the flier, who moves through the air supported by the base; and the base, who stays grounded and supports the flier. Although group and therapeutic flying variations are also addressed, the majority of poses involve two persons.

In contrast to a regular yoga class, acro yoga teacher training in Rishikesh is based almost entirely on partnership, communication, and trust. As such, teaching acro yoga effectively needs just as much skill in fostering student connection as it does in teaching technical poses.

Who Should Take an Acro Yoga Teacher Training Course

Acro Yoga Teacher Training suits a wide range of students:

  • Certified yoga teachers (RYT-200 or above) looking to add a high-demand, community-oriented specialisation.
  • Yoga practitioners with a strong personal practice and decent core and upper-body strength.
  • Acrobats, dancers, or movement professionals interested in a structured yoga-based teaching credential.
  • Couples or practice partners who want to deepen a shared acro practice while also learning to teach.

Although the training gradually develops both physical talent and partner trust rather than assuming advanced ability from day one, a baseline level of strength and comfort with inversions is beneficial.
